The Avengers 2012

TheAsgardian Loki encounters the Other, the leader of an alien race known as the Chitauri. In exchange for retrieving the Tesseract,2 a powerful energy source of unknown potential, the Other promises Loki a Chitauri army with which he can subjugate the Earth. Nick Fury, director of the espionage agency S.H.I.E.L.D., and his lieutenant Agent Maria Hill arrive at a remote research facility during an evacuation, where physicist Dr. Erik Selvig is leading a research team experimenting on the Tesseract. Agent Phil Coulson explains that the object has begun radiating an unusual form of energy. The Tesseract suddenly activates and opens a portal, allowing Loki to reach Earth. Loki takes the Tesseract and uses his scepter to enslave Selvig and several agents, including Clint Barton, to aid him in his getaway.

Vishal (Ajay Devgan) is a hard-working, diligent, and honest plain-clothes police officer in Bombay, India. He lives with his mom (Reema Lagoo) and sister (Usha Bachani). He is in love with Sapna (Urmilla Matondkar). Sapna lives with her family, mom Dhanwanti (Padmini Kapila), dad (Tiku Talsania), and a sister, Neemo (Neha P.). Sapna also loves Vishal, but frequently gets upset with him when he finds no time for her during to his police duties. One day during an encounter, Vishal is critically injured and lapses into a deep coma. In order to prevent the criminal elements to think that they have an upper hand, the Commissioner of Police recruits a con man, Arun (Ajay Devgan), a look-alike of Vishal, and his girlfriend, Pooja (Mahima Choudhary), to take over vishal's place. No one in Vishal's family, nor in Sapna's family is aware of this switch. Arun has not only to fool everyone, but also has to be credible. He is enchanted by Sapna and starts falling in love with her. He is different from Vishal, and is very attentive to Sapna. Sapna appreciates this change in the person she thinks is Vishal, and loves him all the more. Then Vishal's condition improves, and he is ready to leave the hospital and resume his duties and his persona life. But will Arun let go the easy life and the lovely Sapna. And how will Sapna feel when she finds out that her feelings were being played with? Will the criminal elements, including Vishal's own family members, let him re-enter their lives?

Qayamat

Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) has assigned the case of three terrorists to Akram Sheikh (Sunil Shetty). The three terrorists are two brothers Ali and Abbas Ramani (Sanjay Kapoor and Arbaaz Khan) and their common girlfriend Laila(Isha Koppikar). Akram takes charge of this case, and asks his superiors to release Rachit (Ajay Devgan) to assist him. Rachit used to be an associate of the Ramani brothers, but was double-crossed by them. Rachit had escaped from prison and had killed one person, and had been re-captured and is now serving time in a high security prison. Akram does get permission to get Rachit to accompany him. Both of them, together with a team of ace commandos and a scientist Rahul (Aashish Chaudhary) set out to capture the trio, only to find out that the terrorists plan to spread a virus through missiles at various lakes, and water reservoirs in and around the city of Mumbai and it all depends on Rachit and Akram to stop them. 

Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha

Sanjana loves Rahul, but Rahul treats Sanjana as a friend. He is attracted to Nisha, and announces that he will be marrying her soon. Sanjana does not take kindly to this, and in her heart hopes to make Rahul change his mind. She hires Shekhar to be her lover/boyfriend, and go out with her, so as to make Rahul jealous. This does not work, Rahul is drawn even closer to Nisha, and Shekhar finds himself falling in love with Sanjana. Sanjana finds herself getting attracted to Shekhar, only to find out that the police, especially Inspector Khan, would like to arrest Shekhar for criminal activities.

Raj (Fardeen Khan), Veer (Zayed Khan) and Aryan (Sharman Joshi) are unhappy with the respective marriages even though they love their spouses. Their wives Bhavana (Ayesha Takia), Diya (Esha Deol) and Sonia (Soha Ali Khan) are busy with their everyday lives and their husbands feel ignored by them. Bhavana constantly uses religion as an excuse to not be intimate with her husband, Diya aspires to be an actress, and Sonia is a lawyer who is always work obsessed on her cases. Soon the three men come across three beauties Madhuri (Riya Sen), Rekha (Aarti Chhabria) and Dimple (Sophie Choudry). It is not long before they are tempted by them. However unfortunately for them Lucky Bhai (Sanjay Dutt) is out to make hell for them and expose them to their unassuming wives.

At the same time he did not wish to put an abrupt end to their relationship as he was afraid Sapna would rebel against him. Instead he waited patiently and finally one day, in a dramatic turn of events, he got the opportunity he desired and shattered Sapna and Surajs hopies and dreams of spending the rest of their lives together. He also in Sapnas extreme moment of weakness forced her to betray Suraj and emmigrate with her family to Australia. Suraj was unable to comprehend Sapnas sudden departure. He did not believe that a love so pure and with so many promises could end so suddenly. Dejected with everything around him, he knew he would never find peace until he found out why the girl he loved more than his own life had betrayed him. Selling his dearest possession. A motorcycle given to him by his father, he managed to raise the money he needed in order to go to Australia. Upon his arrival there he discovered the truth behind Sapnas sudden departure and now there was nothing in the world that would stop him from uniting with his love, even it meant facing the wrath of J.K.

Rishi Oberoi (Fardeen Khan) is the only son in the Oberoi family, who is wealthy and owns a palatial home. Rishi is a womanizer, and often drinks. One day he comes across an attractive young lady, who he later comes to know, as Chandni Gupta (Reema Sen). Chandni is not impressed with Rishi's advances, and ignores him. Chandni is employed with an organization, and is in love with her co-worker, Mohan Sachdev (Apurva Agnihotri). When Mohan and Chandni plan to marry, they are met with opposition from Mohan's parents, and as a result Mohan marries someone else. Rishi comes to know about this and offers to console Chandni as a friend. It is now up to Chandni to decide if she would prefer a womanizer and a former admirer as a friend.

Ek chotisi love story is a story of 15-year-old Aditya (Aditya Seal) and his voyeuristic love of his nameless neighbor (Manisha Koirala) featuring bathroom masturbation scenes which are virtually unseen in Bollywood. Soon Aditya s hobby turns into infatuation as he begins to follow her movements closely. He feels sexually drawn towards her when he sees her coming out of her bath, her hair dripping wet. He feels jealous when he catches her making love with her boyfriend (Ranvir Shorey). Manisha is unaware of her secret admirer. When the boy musters up the courage and speaks his heart to her, she takes it in her stride and gives him a little teaser on adolescent love.

Holiday Synopsis : Director Pooja Bhatt goes on the lighter side this time with Holiday after her heavy Paap. Holiday is the story of an ugly, clumsy, and unpopular girl frustrated by all her failures and just once wants to make her father proud. Her sister plays the role equivalent to the stereotypical American "blonde ditz," and might I add, she did a pretty poor job at it. The girl falls in love at sight with Dino, a salsa dance teacher. She gets herself involved in his personal problems with Kashmira Shah. This story had lots of potential such as developing the sister's relationship with her "boyfriend," but was sadly left alone. Nonetheless, there were a few good scenes. My favorite is the one where Dino tells the girl to not be crushed by others and lose her identity, or she will just become another face in the crowd, the theme of the movie. This scene takes the movie beyond your typical "ugly duckling" story and gives it much more depth. The protagonist was poorly casted. She gave a poor performance. Dino's immense efforts in learning salsa and his character clearly showed through the screen. Kashmira was also good.

The Divide

The Divide

As nuclear blasts ravage NY City, the apartment block residents rush downstairs to escape the building. Only eight of the residents, Eva and her boyfriend Sam, Josh and his brother Adrien, Josh's friend Bobby, Marilyn and her daughter Wendi, and Devlin manage to force their way into the buildings bomb shelter before the superintendent, Mickey, seals the door. The group acclimate to the cramped surroundings while Mickey asserts his dominance of the shelter, to the chagrin of Josh, Bobby, and Devlin. After time passes, the shelter's door is broken open and the shelter is invaded by armed soldiers in biohazard suits; the men's speech is unintelligible, and their allegiance remains ambiguous. The men attack the group and seize Wendi, leaving the shelter with her. Devlin and Mickey manage to kill two of the men, and Mickey takes his machine gun. Josh volunteers to use one of the dead soldier's suits to leave the shelter and search for Wendi.

As she leaves the charity hospital and passes a church wedding, Edna deposits her new baby with a pleading note in a limousine and goes off to commit suicide. The limo is stolen by thieves who dump the baby by a garbage can. Charlie the Tramp finds the baby and makes a home for him. Five years later Edna has become an opera star but does charity work for slum youngsters in hope of finding her boy. A doctor called by Edna discovers the note with the truth about the Kid and reports it to the authorities who come to take him away from Charlie. Before he arrives at the Orphan Asylum Charlie steals him back and takes him to a flophouse. The proprietor reads of a reward for the Kid and takes him to Edna. Charlie is later awakened by a kind policeman who reunites him with the Kid at Edna's mansion

The Promotion

A war of wills takes place between two men who want to run the same grocery store in this offbeat comedy from writer and director Steven Conrad. Doug (Seann William Scott) is a seemingly ordinary guy who works as the assistant manager of a supermarket near Chicago. When the owners of the market announce they're opening a new branch near Doug's neighborhood, he applies to become manager of the new store, and both he and his wife (Jenna Fischer) assume he's a shoo-in to get the job. But Richard (John C. Reilly), a gregarious recent hire at the store who has relocated to Illinois from Canada, announces he's also applying for the management position, and a keen rivalry develops between Doug and Richard even as they strive to act like friends on the surface. As the competition grows between the two, their personality flaws become increasingly evident -- Doug's short temper, Richard's history of drug abuse -- and when Richard's wife (Lili Taylor) leaves him, the contest starts taking an uncomfortable turn. The Promotion also stars Fred Armisen, Gil Bellows, and Bobby Cannavale.

An 18-year old rock & roll fan finds her crafty scheme to have a little fun in the sun with her favorite musician thwarted in this romantic teen comedy starring Amanda Bynes and Jamie-Lynn Sigler. Jenny (Bynes) is a wide-eyed teen who has recently been hired to work at a popular tropical resort for the summer. When Jenny learns that handsome rock star Jason (Chris Carmack) will be a guest at the posh resort, her excitement is simply too powerful to contain. Fortunately for Jenny, fate is on her side this summer, and when Jason falls overboard from his cruise ship Jenny reflexively dives in to save him. Upon rafting to the safety of a nearby shore, Jenny convinces the hunky rocker that the pair are castaways on a deserted island paradise. Of course, considering that the luxury resort is just a stone's throw away, this minor deception is a bit of a stretch, but what's a little white lie when the object of her affections is none the wiser? Jenny's brilliant plan for romance is soon complicated, however, when her romantic rival, Alexis (Sigler), washes ashore pretending to be shipwrecked as well. Now, as the pair competes for Jason's affections, Jenny's deception rapidly begins to unravel.

An independent-minded young woman discovers the joys of football, much to her family's chagrin, in this upbeat British comedy drama. Jess Bhamra (Parminder Nagra) is an 18-year-old growing up in West London, where her family has taken every effort to stay in touch with its Indian heritage. Jess' father and mother (Anupam Kher and Shaheen Khan) are after their daughter to go to law school, learn to cook a traditional Indian dinner, and settle down with a nice Indian boy -- the latter of which is high on the agenda of her older sister Pinky (Archie Panjabi), who is soon to wed her longtime beau Teetu (Kulvinder Ghir). However, her family is unaware that Jess has a secret passion -- football (or soccer, as it's known in North America). While Jess' enthusiasm for football star David Beckham is obvious, given the fact his photos cover the walls of her room, her parents don't know that in her spare time she likes to play a friendly game in the park with some of the boys in the neighborhood. One day, while Jess and her pals kick the ball around, she meets Jules (Keira Knightley), who is quite impressed with Jess' skills. Jules plays with a local semi-pro women's football team, the Hounslow Harriers, and she thinks Jess has what it takes to make the team. Jess knows that her parents would never approve of their daughter playing football, so she doesn't tell them, and starts spinning an increasingly complex series of lies as she tries to keep up a double life as a student and a footballer. Bend It Like Beckham was a significant box-office success in Great Britain and Europe, but didn't reach American theaters until nearly a year after it debuted in the U.K.

August 2009 Ever since the violence between Muslim Uighurs and Han Chinese, a fear of fanaticism has taken hold. Is the government's decision to demolish the Uighur area Kashgar really due to an earthquake threat? Kashgar is a cultural icon. Parts of the city have stood for 2000 years and within its labyrinth, Uighur traditions are unchanged. 'We live as we did in the old times' says Tursun, a 6 generation pot thrower. But times are changing. Beijing's deputy mayor has announced that destruction of the old town is the only way to prepare for an earthquake threat. 'I spent my whole childhood in this place. If they destroy it, we can't continue our business' cries one of Kashgar's many blacksmiths. Many Uighur's are convinced that the authorities 'never tell the truth'. Yet some are happy to be rehoused in government buildings, admitting that their homes are dangerous. Kashgar is of great strategic value for China - if small separatist groups here link with Taliban insurgents across the border, there could be a full-scale armed conflict in Western China. 'If a handful of religious extremists, or international terrorists appear, we will crack down on them immediately' says Beijing's deputy mayor. His plan could rebuild a sour relationship. Bride and Prejudice

The very British sensibilities of Jane Austen are introduced to the exotic flavors of the Bollywood musical in this romantic comedy with songs from the director of Bend It Like Beckham, Gurinder Chadha. Lalita Bakshi (Aishwarya Rai) is the lovely and eligible daughter of her socially ambitious mother and father (Nadira Babbar and Anupam Kher). Mother and father want to be sure that Lalita, the most beautiful of their four daughters, settles down with a man worthy of her, but she has proven resistant to matchmaking, announcing that she will choose her own husband, and will choose him for love. While mother is keen on the profoundly annoying Kholi (Nitin Chandra Ganatra), Lalita has had her head turned by a handsome vagabond from England, Johnny Wickham (Daniel Gilles). But while attending the wedding of a friend, Lalita meets Will Darcy (Martin Henderson), a college buddy of family friend Raj (Naveen Andrews) who is the son of a wealthy hotel magnate. Lalita finds that Will makes a strong impression on her -- she can't stand him, but she also can't get him out of her mind. Will feels the same way about her, and as they inadvertently chase one another over three continents, will morbid fascination grow into true love? Bride and Prejudice marked the first English-speaking role for Aishwarya Rai, who had firmly established herself as India's leading female star when this film was made.

This documentary takes a balanced view as it weaves its way through the labyrinth of similarities between the Gospel accounts and the iconography of Jesus Christ. There is documentary evidence that the Shroud, venerated in France as early as 1350, is the Shroud we see today preserved in Turin. The documentary takes the historical high ground as it presents the places, the written evidence, the changes of ownership, the various expositions and the first 1898 photograph that changed everything -- bringing the Holy Shroud into the realm of modern science and to worldwide attention for the very first time. The documentary reports on the first examinations of the fabric and the imprint left on it by the body of a dead man who had been tortured and crucified. It describes the discovery of red blood cells and pollen traces, carbon-14 dating, and computerized image processing. The Man of Pain: The Holy Shroud was the Official Documentary of the 1998 Holy Shroud Exposition Committee and was granted the right to use the Vatican's Jubilee 2000 logo. It is the only documentary to present High Definition footage of the private exposition which took place on June 25, 1997 -- the only film to be shot since the fire that badly damaged Guarini's Chapel. This film was made with the assistance of Archdiocesan's experts, and includes footage shot in Jerusalem, the church of St. Catherine of Sinai, Edessa, Istanbul, Lirey, St. Hyppolyte, and Chambery. Scientific consultants to the project were: Pierluigi Baima Bollone, Nello Balossino, Giuseppe Ghiberti, Silvano Scannerini, and Giuseppe Terzuolo.
